Citrusy bright chicken soup! Thank me later :) The Afghani Burger (more like a wrap) is loaded to the brim of the fold with fries, veggies, egg, sausage which reminded me of something you would find overseas. To be it was a super large yet portable comfort wrap that goes great any time of the day but it seemed so fitting for that late night carb meal too absorb everything. It had layers of flavor was really popped off with intensity once it was married with the green? chutney (umami sauce is what I'll call it or the catalyst). With every bite I had to drizzle this sauce because it pronounced each ingredient with greater intensity. The mango shake was good but it does come with lots of crushed pistachio (i think) which creates texture if you enjoy that. I felt like it was a drink and a meal. I do want to come back for the mantoo, kabab as that's in the title of the business lol, karahi, chapli even thought it's not my favorites since it's so dry at other places, then the Afghani lamb pillau as these items are highly reviewed and rated. I'm ordering doordash after this post ti get my fix of the chicken soup. Give it three sips and let us know what you think .. it might have you coming back for more. Enjoy!

First of all I want to say that I am a foodie, I love all types of cuisines and I try new restaurants all the time, I go to this place very often and it is not an exaggeration to say this place is on my top 3 restaurants in Houston. I grew up in Mexico City, eating homemade foods all the time, some of the dishes in this Restaurant remind me of authentic Mexican dishes that you can't find in the US, everything I've tried here is amazing, my favorite dish might be their Chicken Karahi, their kababs are amazing. I fully recommend this restaurant!

So pleasantly surprised by this spot on Bellaire! Nice casual place for lunch. It's very clean inside and you can order entrees or platters for 2-3 people. Tried the mixed platter for 2, which was a huge serving of rice along with 3 different meats. The rice itself was very flavorful, I loved the addition of carrots and dried fruit. Every meat was delicious in its own way, especially the lamb shank which was so tender. The mantoo (dumplings) were so unique- perfectly cooked, the filling was savory and the yogurt dressing and beans on top made for a nice flavor combination. So glad we tried these! There's self serve hot tea as well. The people who work here are very nice and food came out after about 10 minutes. Would love to come back and try other menu items!

We have been wanting to try this place and so glad we finally did! It's a gem. The food is delicious - the portions are generous - and happy to support a local business. Between the four of us we ordered and shared the mantoo (dumplings), Bulani (potato and chives pancake), and the mixed platter for 3 (beef, chicken and lamb shank). We had plenty of the platter left. Everything was full of flavor. The owner was very sweet and offered the homemade green sauce (little spicy) and yogurt to accompany the meal. Delicious! I also ordered the homemade mango drink (with pistachios)! Highly recommend. But we also enjoyed the saffron tea. Go visit and enjoy the wonderful food!

We shared a rice and lamb shank dish, QABULI PALAU. It was delicious and balanced. The staff were kind and the place was clean. Reasonable prices and generous portions . What more could you ask for?

If you like good food, then this is the place to go! Whenever I visit Houston, my mom always wants to come here. (My mom never likes outside food so this means a lot.) Between the two of us, we enjoy trying many dishes and love the leftovers later. I have tried so many things here. The Qabuli Palau is light and refreshing with a slight sweetness from the raisins, the lamb shank is tender, and the rice is perfectly cooked. The Goat Karahi again has a delicious depth of flavors without being overly spiced. The Chapli Kababs and the Afghani Tikka Kabobs are just chef's kiss served with some delicious bread. I think anything you try here will delight your tastebuds! Make sure to try some of the tea and dessert at the end!

Friendly service. The server took his time telling me what was included with my choices. In the end I asked for the lamb and chicken combo with rice and an order of potato samosa. Food was hot and tasty. I normally don't like raisins with my rice but I didn't mind theirs. As someone else mentioned, they are generous with their portions Came here after a recommendation, will definitely come back again.
